Project Desolation is an environment piece created for the third year of my university course in games design. The course allowed me to explore any aspect of games development and gave me full creative freedom over my work, for this piece, I decided to create an environment based on Stephen Grimm's winning submission to the Alternate Realities 3D competition.
The environment was made using a mix of industry standard asset pipelines as well as techniques popularised by blender artists such as Ian Hubert and Andrew Price based on a pseudo-form of photogrammetry.
